Jennifer (Jen) Moor, LCSW/MPHHIV Prevention Program Manager
Jen began her journey in 1992, driven by a passion ignited by an HIV-positive infant. With both an MSW and MPH, she started working with pregnant people and infants living with HIV before becoming the Rural Prevention Coordinator, focusing on HIV and Hepatitis C education and testing in underserved communities in rural and Southern Colorado. Now, as the Prevention Program Manager for the HIV Prevention Program, Jen oversees initiatives aimed at improving health equity and outcomes for high-risk populations across Colorado. Her extensive experience in public health and dedication to vulnerable communities have made her a key figure in advancing HIV prevention and care throughout the state.
A.J. De La Garza, MSWHIV Prevention Specialist
A.J. (he/they) recently completed his MSW with a focus in Health Equity and Community Engagement. After working for more than a decade in Medical Lab Sciences, he left clinical healthcare and began work in community-based HIV Prevention and went back to school to get his B.S. in Social Work. A.J. now works as an HIV Prevention Specialist advocating for community-based programs focused in harm reduction and sex positivity with the youth leadership team, aligning the program with the needs of youth and young adults. He provides prevention education and testing services in the Denver Metro Area, partnering with schools, non-profits, and youth serving agencies.
Zachary (Zach) Littrell, MPH CandidateHIV Prevention Specialist
Zach (he/they) is currently pursuing an MPH in Epidemiology and Global health at the Colorado School of Public Health. As an advocate for sexual health and HIV prevention, he joined Be You Colorado as a youth leader. After graduating with his B.S. in public health he became Be You Colorado’s TelePrEP Research Study Recruiter, and then a Contracted Testing Partner. Zach now works as an HIV Prevention Specialist, striving to make sexual health inclusive for LGBTQIA+ youth, valuing the power of representation to foster safe, loving spaces where everyone feels welcomed. He provides prevention education and testing services primarily in Rural/Southern Colorado, partnering with health departments, non-profits, and community organizations.
Lisa Abuogi, MD MScHIV Prevention Program Director
Dr. Lisa Abuogi (she/her) is a pediatrician and HIV specialist with a focus on pediatric, adolescent, and perinatal HIV. After earning her MD from the University of Colorado and completing her pediatrics residency and Global Health fellowship at UCSF, she worked in Kenya, enhancing HIV prevention and treatment services as the deputy country director for the FACES program. Now an associate professor at the University of Colorado and the medical director for the HIV Prevention Program, she leads research focused on improving HIV treatment outcomes for women, youth, and children, as well as the efficacy of TelePrEP services for youth and young adults across Colorado.
Youth Leaders
As a for-youth, by-youth program dedicated to empowering Colorado’s young people to take charge of their sexual health, our youth leadership team serves as our executive board. These engaged, open-minded, and passionate high school and college students are committed to ensuring their peers have access to comprehensive and medically accurate resources so they can make informed decisions about their sexual health. Their involvement is crucial in shaping services that truly meet the needs and desires of Colorado’s youth and young adults.
